Christmas at LifeBridge

7e21acde-8518-4f86-ac96-3678baf50833.jpegThis Christmas at LifeBridge we will walk through the story of Jesus’ birth, beginning Sunday, December 7th. It begins in the Garden with God’s promise of a Savior and ends with an eager anticipation of Jesus’ promised return. In the middle, God shows His unmistakable faithfulness in sending the promised Rescuer. We see His love for the lowly and outcast as He proclaims the news of His Son to the shepherds. We marvel at His heart to see all nations come and worship His Son through the Magi’s journey.

Even if you know the Christmas story well, don’t rush past what God has for you in this season. For many, this may be the first time to consider all that God is saying through the birth of His Son. For others, it will be an opportunity to rediscover the way God intimately works in the details of life for His glory and the good of man. For all of us, may this season be one marked by hope, expectation, remembrance and worship. The King has come and is coming! There is much to celebrate.

The dedication service provides you, the parent(s), with an opportunity to express publically your desire to lead and spiritually nurture your child in cooperation with the Holy Spirit, so your child will develop a desire to love God and love others.

Our next Child Dedication will be held during our Sunday worship services on December 14th. CLICK HERE to sign up today or stop by our Welcome Center on Sunday morning. For additional information, please email Tara Sanders, tsanders@mylifebridgechurch.com.

New Series: PUZZLED // Nov 15

How do we make sense of things in our lives that don’t make sense? The Apostle Paul once said, “Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity” (1 Corinthians 13:12, NLT).

In this three-week series, we will walk through how to trust God to calm the storms in our hearts even before he calms the physical storm we’re facing.

Why I Serve

Why I serve…Why children’s ministry? Why serve in the classes my children are in? Why serve at all?

Some days I wonder, I wonder lots of things…

I wonder am I really making a difference in the lives of these precious babes or am I just babysitting for an hour and half every Sunday? Is it clear that I am leading children to the Lord or am I just doing crowd control? Am I showing them what joy and love look like from the Father or am I just going through the motions?

I ponder these things in the depth of my heart; praying, seeking and asking is this really what I am supposed to be doing? Shouldn’t this always be an emotionally fulfilling experience? Shouldn’t I walk away satisfied, knowing that what I am doing truly matters to the one true King?

I think the questions themselves are not necessarily bad—all of those things are good to reflect on. However, when I allow myself to base my decision to serve on my own thoughts, desires and feelings, I am forgetting what it’s really about in the first place.  It’s never been about the way we feel or what we experience. Serving has always been about Him! When we choose to serve, we are choosing to worship the one True King. We are saying, “God you are worthy of my time and my energies. I am choosing to serve you and your people today!”  It becomes about humility: “In humility value others above ourselves.”

And for moments like these…ty

After a long day of battling with my very strong-willed child, I walked into the kitchen to find him teaching his little brother the lesson from this past Sunday. “God made water, Liam, and so we give thanks to the Lord with all our heart.” In that moment God reminded me that choosing to serve was choosing to lead His children to Him. Through all the prep, games, and activities, God’s word had really sunk in. Truth was written in Ty’s heart and he couldn’t help but share it.

And the icing on the cake…

On Sunday, 5 of our LifeBridge kids committed their lives to Christ and expressed their faith through baptism. What a beautiful moment in time for these families—to know that they are forever His! It’s moments like these that Jesus said, “There will be more rejoicing in heaven!” It’s moments like these that remind me that I’m not just a baby sitter or crowd control. I’m bridging the gap for these children and that’s changing their lives, forever. It’s for these moments—these eternity changing moments—I serve.
